1. Discover the different museums

There are many different museums just minutes away from the Costa Serena neighborhood.

If you are a surf fanatic, you’ll love California Surf Museum. Located at Pier View Way, approximately 10 minutes away from Costa Serena, this museum s a great place to hang out and explore. There are surfboards, surf art, surf equipment, pictures, videos, magazines, and more.

If you love the arts, creativity, and vibrant colors, you’ll have a great time at the  Muramid Mural Museum and Art Center

Are you an art connoisseur? Do you enjoy exploring California's culture through arts and paintings? If you do, don't forget to check out Oceanside Museum of Art, a premier regional art museum. It hosts several art exhibitions every year, as well as classes, lectures, concerts, films, culinary events, and more.

2. Explore the food scenes

Harbor Beach- Located 12 minutes away from Costa Serena, this beach is located right west of the harbor. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops close to this beach. It is a popular beach especially because it offers a great view of pelicans and the sunset.

Breakwater Way - When you want some quiet or to watch surfers and volleyball players, Breakwater Way is the beach to go to.

Pier View North - As the name implies, this beach is located north of Oceanside Pier. Less crowded than its southern counterpart, Pier View North is perfect for swimming, but you have to watch out because there are only designated areas for swimming and surfing. There are also public restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and grills, which makes this beach perfect for picnics.

Pier View South - This sandy beach on the south side of Oceanside's Pier is a crowd favorite, especially during the summer. It is the most popular beach in Oceanside and is located really close to the downtown area.

Tyson Street Beach - When you want a change, visit the rocky Tyson Street Beach. It is a great beach for picnics, but you should note that surfing is not allowed on this beach. Tyson Beach is a magnet for photographers because the view from this beach is amazing.

Wisconsin Street Beach - How about visiting a beach that only appears during low tide? Wisconsin Street Beach is a narrow, sandy beach that only opens up when the tide is low.

4. Play golf

Are you a golf enthusiast? You'll find that Oceanside has some amazing golf courses. The El Camino Country Club, Emerald Isle Golf Course, Oceanside Golf Course, and Arrowood Golf Course are just a few of them. Enjoy your favorite game with your friends in any of these golf areas.

5. Explore Oceanside’s Sunset Market

Do you enjoy food fairs and exhibits? You'll love Oceanside Sunset Market. Located 13 minutes away from Costa Serena, this market offers a large selection of food and merchandise. There's live entertainment too.

6. Enjoy nature in Guajome County Park

Do you like camping outdoors? How about bird watching, or long hikes? If you like all three, Guajome County Park is right your alley. This park is ideal for history and nature lovers.

There's so much to see in this park. There are two ponds that are home to a variety of birds and fish. There are miles and miles of grasslands, woodlands, and wetlands.

7. Go sailing!

There are so many things to explore on land, but when you feel the call of the sea, it is time to go sailing. You can charter a trip and just go sailing on the blue waters. Whale watching is a relaxing pastime many active adults enjoy in Oceanside. 

8. Enjoy wine tasting with friends

When you want a fun afternoon with your favorite spirit, why not go wine tasting. Twenty-five minutes from Costa Serena is the Beach House Winery, a winery that offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and North Country. Have a great time with your friends tasting the wine. 9. Attend a summer concert

Do you want to feel young again? Do you want to reminisce the carefree days of your youth? Feel young and carefree when you attend the famous summer concerts at Oceanside’s iconic Amphitheater. Located just yards from the Pacific Ocean, this amphitheater is home to many popular acts.

10. Join athletic events

Take advantage of your excellent health as an active adult and join one of Oceanside’s prestigious sports events. Join a local sports group and train with them, and pretty soon, you’ll be running and swimming like a professional.

Located on the north side of the Buena Vista Lagoon, about eight minutes away, and close to South Oceanside, this nature center exhibits the native plant and animal life of the San Diego area. The animals were crafted to perfection to create a true representation of San Diego’s natural habitats.

13. Another museum for history lovers!

Would you like to see an original General Store? Visit Heritage Park Village and Museum, a 2-acre park set up to serve as a permanent memorial of Oceanside’s heritage. This park is located near San Luis Rey Mission and contains the original General Store, a blacksmith shop, stable, a jail, and some other buildings.
